More writing...

Just signed the contract for my 3rd nonfiction book about Women's Fiction! Will be part of the Genreflecting Series.   Due out Fall/Winter 2011.  Also just submitted the Women's Lives and Relationships chapter to the forthcoming next edition of Genreflecting, and got my finished copy of Integrated Advisory Service: Breaking Through the Book Boundary to Better Serve Library Users ,where I contributed to the Women's Stories section.

I would love to know your definition of Womens Fiction. I have very specific tastes in book/author preferences - not romance, not paranomal, not horror. I love Barbara Kingsolver, Loving Frank, The Accidential Tourist, The Help -- books in which relationships and characters take center stage. Is that your definition or is the "genre" all over the place?

Hey Laura!
Sorry that I am just coming across this comment months later! Yes - when I talk about Women's Fiction, I am talking NOT just about books that women read, or books with women characters, but SPECIFICALLY about novels where the woman is not only the main character, but her relationships and feelings are the center of the story. In my upcoming book (now due out in the spring of 2012, because I'm still working on it!) I'll devote a LOT of time to this discussion!
